A stapedectomy consists of removing a portion of the sclerotic stapes footplate and replacing it with an implant that is secured to the incus. This procedure restores continuity of ossicular movement and allows transmission of sound waves from the eardrum to the inner ear. A modern variant of this surgery called a stapedotomy, is performed by drilling a small hole in the stapes footplate with a micro-drill or a laser, and the insertion of a piston-like prothesis. The success rate of either a stapedotomy or a stapedectomy depends greatly on the skill and the familiarity with the procedure of the surgeon.
Other less successful treatment includes fluoride administration, which theoretically becomes incorporated into bone and inhibits otosclerotic progression. This treatment cannot reverse conductive hearing loss, but may slow the progression of both the conductive and sensorineural components of the disease process. Recently, some success has been reported with bisphosphonate medications, which stimulate bone-deposition without stimulating bony destruction.
Has anyone ever heard of this natural treatment for cat fleas?
I saw something on TV, where a woman recommended a solution of water and vinegar to repel fleas on cats. Has anyone ever heard of that? Does it actually work?
It won’t work, and there is a chance the vinegar will irritate the skin. The best flea treatment is at your vet. There is no natural way that will kill fleas and eggs on the cat and your carpet. Make sure you buy at vet and not your local pet store unless they sell vet recommended treatments. They might be more expensive, some Feed stores also carry them.
does anyone know a natural treatment for demodicosis (red mange)?
My dog has demodicosis (not contagious) it is passed through the blood line. I’ve had her to the vet for 2 years at least once a month for Mitaban dips. She also takes other meds periodically, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know a natural treatment or anything else I can do to help my dog? Thanks!
i don’t know if its the same but the mange i know about , you can take used burnt motor oil rub it on your dog and it will make it go away , my dad use to do this when i was a little girl

Natural treatment of Eczema with vitamins?
I have Eczema on my fingers (mostly finger tips) and it is constantly dry and cracking. I have tried every kind of OTC lotion and even a prescription ointment. All it seems to do is lessen the condition slightly. I wear band-aids on up to 4-5 fingers and it seems to help, but it looks odd and makes typing difficult.
Any suggestions on a Natural remedy such as vitamins or minerals?
The first thing you should do is look at the products you are using. Anything that has alcohol listed as an ingredient should be tossed. Alcohol always further dries out your skin, causes the product to evaporate quicker, meaning you have to use more of it often. Using it more often means you will run out sooner, and have to go buy more. That is how the industry makes money from their products.
Another thing you should do is switch over to natural soaps, body butters, and moisturizers. If you want scented products, make your own- using fragrance oils or essential oils. Not only are they better, they can significantly alleviate or completely get rid of your skin problems. And last, but not least – they last longer.
I recommend shea butter, coffee butter, coconut oil, and olive butter for good moisturizers. Neem oil is also very very effective,but I personally think it stinks. Mango butter is a great alternative if you dont like the heavy moisturizers, but you will have to use it more frequently – or maybe not, everybody’s skin is different.
I personally think you should start with shea butter though. Soak your hands in wwarm water for a few minutes, pat them dry – then apply the shea butter to start. Use it faithfully after you wash your hands, regularly throughout the day (take a sample size with you places), and put it on before you go to bed and even possibly wear some gloves to help lock in the moisture.

You can buy these cheaply from some supermarkets such as Asda, on the Asian section I think [Natco label]. What you can do is crush some in a pestal and mortar and then swallow with some water. Try about 1/4 tsp at first twice a day so you don’t upset your stomach and increase this dosage step-wise to about 1/2 to 1tsp twice a day. Or alternatively purchase Black seed oil and take a couple of teaspoons a day or whatever is recommended on the bottle. These are the seeds you find on Naan bread that gives it its characteristic taste.
