Can anyone reccommend an effective natural treatment for tapeworms in a cat?

I have discovered something called Para Guard which is a holistic tapeworm treatment for cats. Has anyone ever used Para Guard?

Please don’t take the chance with your cat’s life, cats are very sensitive to many things, by trying something OTC, you could harm your pet. Call your vet, the only safe way to go.

    Yes, and it doesn’t work.

I am all for natural treatment, but when it comes to parasites in your pets, just give them whatever the vet says to.

I tried Para Guard and it didn’t do anything.

i hear the best way to handle it naturally is to get a straw and suck em out.

Take the cat to the vet…your cat is not an enviro-whack job with a political agenda…if it has tapeworms it needs tapeworm medicine.

Exit question: Will you let political correctness kill your cat?

No but for years and years, the old timers used to give tobacco to animals to kill worms. Doesn’t hurt them and it kills the worms. I used to do it all the time and it works. Just mix a cigarette(without the paper) into the food(wet food) once a month or so to control them.:)

para guard is quite expensive and it doesnt work. i would go to the vet and get some meds there. there arent many natural treatments that work so i would stick with the vet’s meds.

I wouldn’t go with the natural treatment for anything in cats, unless your vet says it’s okay and safe to use. Some of the holistic stuff out there meant to treat or prevent ailments on your pets does not work and only makes your pet ill. Also, you don’t know if your pet would be allergic to anything in the ingredients. It’s best to leave the worm treatment to the pros, your vets.

Do not listen to the person who said to give the cat milk. Milk can actually be more harmful to your cat than the tapeworm and may even kill your cat. It gives your cat "the runs" and in turn dehydrates them.

don’t waste your money on a vet, just give the cat a lot of milk and the tapeworm(s) will follow the milk thru its digestive tract and out the you know what.

go to the vet for the proper meds…many of the other the counter meds are dangerous to cats. Your cat is better off taking the proper (non-holistic) meds and getting rid of the worms. I know of NO holistic meds that will kill them.
