Do you know a natural treatment to get rid of neuroleptics like Depakote,Risperdal?

I have an autistic son who is taking depakote and risperdal to control his self injury and agitation. I have read about B6-Magnesium-DMG vitamin treatment to control aggressive behavior in autistics. But my son is in the hands of a psychiatrist-a drug prescriber. I need to find a healer, naturopath or specialist in alternative medicine in Sacramento, CA,where we live. Please give me information about this. Thanks in advance. Maria P.

I am sure I am not going to be chosen for the best answer by you, but there are no supplements to get rid of risperdal and depakote. None what so ever. If you have doubts, see another child psychiatrist to make sure your son needs these meds, or to discuss other medicinal options. But don't go through this other route, there is nothing wrong with drugs, as a mater of fact the only difference between natural treatments and drugs is that drugs are tested better.

I agree with shrink, and I've been into herbs for years. Depakote and Risperdal are usually not prescribed if their isn't a reason, and I am really not aware of any supplements or herbs that could actually replace those kind of medications. Sorry, I know you're trying your best for your son. Your mentioned supplements might help, but will in no way replace those prescription meds. Sorry, the good news is some of that behavior might get better as your son gets older. Good Luck
