I suspect I may have gotten it but don't want to take antibiotics. Is there another way to help keep the virus supressed and, hopefully, help make my immune system better able to handle it?

There is an over the counter drug that is as effective as prescription medicine for herpes. It is called Lysine and costs anywhere from $5-10. Ask your doctor about it.
