highlight for me the natural treatments or must i see a doctor

Well, that all depends on the doctor. A lot of them have absolutely no idea what vaginismus is or how to treat it. I went through SEVEN before I found one who really understood the disorder.

If you’re still at the stage where you just want it to go away by itself, any suggested treatment will not work for you. Unfortunately, vaginismus is a disorder that needs a pro active approach to overcoming.

However, if you’re ready to do anything to get over it, here are some of my tricks that you can try to help.

First, get yourself a set of graduated dilators. You can order them off the internet at: www.vaginismus.com (this is also a really good site for information) When you receive them, put them all away except for the small one. Only work with one at a time or you’ll get discouraged. When you can get that smallest one in with little effort, it’s time to move up to the next size.

Second – lubricant, and LOTS of it.

Third, when you are first trying for penetration, you be on top. This gives you all the control of the depth. Breathe out through your mouth as you gently push yourself down. If at any time it starts to burn or hurt, stop where you are, (don’t pull him out) breathe, and have another go.

Finally, join a support group. There are several on yahoo groups where you can go to get support from other women who are going through the same thing as you.

All the best.

I’d see a doctor. My sent me to a physical therapist who specialized in female disorders. Worked wonderfully. Never took meds for it.

You can take a supplement that has a good bacteria in it. You can find it at any drug store. There is a good one called Culturelle.
